Random Thoughts

I just realized that I've been taking pictures of Jack pretty much every single day since he was born. Crazy I know! Z + J don't know any better, they grew up with the camera's shutter sound...

It's the only way (photography/scrapbooking) I know how to tell a story...
If you want to know what I'm thinking or how I feel about things you can definitely tell by looking at my photo library. I love to capture everyday moments.

This post is dedicated to my camera(s.) Thank you for taking my abuse. Seriously. I use y'all sooo soooo much! But most importantly, thank you for still working.
Whatever I can grab I grab whether it's an iphone, Canon Rebel XTi, Photo Booth, or Sony cyber-shot. I think I go overboard sometimes.
WHY?
Because I don't really have much of my childhood pictures.
(about a dozen.)

Sad. I. Know.

Overcompensating? Hmmm maybe.
Therefore, I take a lot of pictures of my kids!

Therefore, I don't print all of the pictures I took.

Therefore, I consistently have to clear room on my lap top.

Therefore, I archive/back up.

(both on and off site - very important!!! I can go on and on about this topic. Just to paint you a picture, what if your house burn down or your kid spills juice on your computer or drop them? Yeah you want to make sure your pictures are stored somewhere else too. Please please if you aren't already doing this please do so. You spent so much effort in preserving your family memories and you don't want to risk it.)

Thank you cameras! You keep me sane!

Dear Modcloth,

You did it again. I'm sitting here in front of my computer screen drooling over your products. Wishing, hoping, that someday I can fill my closet with your lovely clothes and accessories.

Craft Room: Phase 1

As if having a baby isn't enough. We decided to move a few weeks after I gave birth. Life has been a bit crazy but in a good way. Now I get to have my own space!

I knew exactly what I wanted. The vision of this room is as clear as crystal. Other rooms of the house ... not so much. hehe

First thing first...
I headed to Home Depot for some paints. (all by myself... kiddos stayed at home with my mom, thanks mom.)

Miss Martha Stewart doesn't disappoint. I chose Feldspar MSL131 and Persimmon Red MSL015. These 2 colors are so darn cute together. I cannot wait to show you once the room is done. I will probably want to sleep in that room. As much as I love my hubby I can spend all day all night crafting away.

Alright ladies it's time for me to go wash off all of these paints off of me and get a few hours of shut-eye before the sun comes up. Tomorrow is another jam-packed day! Lots of work to do.

Stay tuned for Phase 2

July 9, 2011

Please pass the jam

It has been so looooooong since I was in a "baby mode." Almost 3 years to be exact. Right now it's all about Eat-Sleep-Poop.

Pardon me for neglecting my blog... we are trying to soak in all of the amazing moments with this lil' guy. He brings so much joy to me. I can't believe he's mine. He's miiiiiine! Wow! Speechless!

I love a lot of things about Jack but one of my fav has to be his rolls. His adorable baby rolls. Adorbs!

We both love to eat that's for sure! That's my boy!!!

We are in love!

As promised...

Here's our little bundle of handsomeness!

Jack Tanin (ธานินทร์)

Shout out to daddio for letting Jack borrow one of his favorite tie.

"He didn't even pee on it so calm down dude!"

Last picture...

I'm sitting here pinching myself! I can't believe this little miracle will be joining our family soooooooooon! By soon I mean less than 2 weeks for sure! Next post will most likely be all about him! Please except a rain check and apology for haven't post any projects for several weeks now.

Sugar daddy is really excited and he would always say things like "let's go on a walk." So that's exactly what we did this morning at the mall. Yes before everyone else and their mothers got there. It sure did feel like we were the only one there. We got there shortly after the mall opened.

(bathroom break No. 182389)

I hope you ladies are having a great day. I'm going to go relax and put my feet up! =)

May 23, 2011

Sorry sorry sorry...

Sorry ladies!

I still haven't post any of my recent projects. I will try my hardest to post them before the baby comes. A lot of things have been going on in our household lately. I will explain once everything calms down.

But for now I'm going to enjoy this little handsome boy... his world will never be the same in a few weeks!

I hope you are ready Z!

May 8, 2011

Oh baby!

Oh BOY! Next month is not too far away... You know what that means?

**Babe No. 2 will be joining our family SOON!
**
(unless he decided to come early... hopefully not too early though)

I will try my best to post all of the projects that I've been working on before the baby arrives. No promise though because I have like 3-4 projects going on right now and none of them are completed. I keep starting a new one. Crazy!

Who knows maybe the next post will be the arrival of our little bundle of handsomeness! (Since I've been so good at blogging lately *wink*)

For real... nothing seems to be comfortable lately, the only place is my bed!

Dig it

I'm "digging" these gorgeous colors spots everywhere in our backyard. I finally got this gardening thing down (I think.)
I'm embarrassed to tell you how many rose bushes I killed. Yikes! Don't even go there. But I'm determined to be able to grow roses. I have more hope this time around than ever before.

I love looking out our windows and see Spring colors popping up everywhere.
I went to Lowes today and got some Celosia. I will probably do some more planting tomorrow. The smell of soils, getting my hands in the dirt, breaking the earth down, watering, pruning, ahhh I'm in heaven. I'm telling you I'm a bit odd when it comes to what is considered relaxing to most people! It's so relaxing to me. My husband catches me in the backyard just staring at my flowers all the time. hehe

I get to enjoy all of these hobbies before baby No. 2 arrives. I blame it on "nesting" everyday is a new project!

Perfect Afternoon Sweets

This afternoon Z and I decided to bake some cookies and cut up some fresh fruits. Mommy has sweet tooth and so does he! When I was trying to take pictures for the blog he wanted to get into some of the action too. I gave in and gave him point and shoot camera. (shhhh don't tell sugar daddy)
He looks like he knows what he was doing. This is the first time trying out Brown Butter and Fleur de Sel Chocolate Chip Cookies. OMG! These are delicious... but the best part is the smell (brown butter goodness.) It's not like your typical chocolate chip cookies recipe so give it a try. I didn't have the fancy French sea salt so I used the regular sea salt and the cookies turned out just fine.

He was elated with the results and couldn't wait to dive right in!

So the big question is...

Whose melon is BIGGER? hehe =)

Blue & White Anyone?

As of late I've been getting a few things ready for our bébé No. 2 Thank goodness Mister Z has a lot of cute things to pass down to his little brother.

Everything I got my hands on in the past few days seem to be all different shades of blue mixed with a bit of white! Classic classic classic pieces. TIMELESS! ahhhhhhhhh dreamy right?

These are some of the inspiration while I was bouncing from site to site.

Thank you Pinterest for making this inspiration board possible.

Today

Today...
I feel HUGE
is a good day (no more jet lag)
is filled with cuddling with Mister Z.
the weather is perfect
is a slow/relaxing da
y
is going to be the 1st day of my craft projects (yes yes finally I had to put it on my blog to hol
d me accountable for it.)

So back to when I said "I feel huge." I really do feel huge. When I look down, I can't see most of my legs and before I know it I'm not going to be able to see my feet! Yikes! It's a good kind of yikes though. I don't have a lot of 'huge' complaints when it comes to this pregnancy which I'm grateful for. *knock on wood*

That being said... I still haven't done anything creative lately. That is why I'm letting y'all know that I'm going to start TODAY! Even if it's 5 mins. of creativity. I know my readers will definitely hold me accountable.
(note to self: maybe this is a bad idea)

What I did do today...
I cooked!
I made Tom Ka Gai
(Thai soup; creamy coconut base broth)
I feel like the coolest/awesome/amazing wife today because dinner was ready before husband got home. Go me!

Please forgive me for not giving out the recipe. There's no secret to this amazing soup. It's just that I don't measure anything when I cook. My disclaimer has always been "If you like it this time enjoy it cuz next time it won't be the same."

So what did you do TODAY? I hope you had a great day!

February 16, 2011

Aaahhh Reality!

Some of you may wonder why I've been neglecting my blog yet again!
We took a family vacation to Thailand and now we are officially back to reality!
Sad sad day ...

Good bye Thailand! The land of smiles! We missed you already. Mister Z mentioned you already several times since we got back!

(We got a little bit of color... notice even white folks aren't that white any more!)

I will be posting something soon I promise before this month is over at least. This jet lag thing isn't fun but this vacation was worth every jet lagging moment!

Love is in the air...

Teresa just informed me that I haven't posted anything for a month! Yikes! My blog needs some lovin'
(I am busy growing a person...)

Valentine's day is just around the corner and here are some inspirations for my readers.

No. 1 - In Love Mini/Card; 6"x9" cardstock & some scrap pattern paper

(This heart was made from a plastic box that my Cricut cartridge came in. I used Tim Holtz's embossing folder, rubbed some black & gold acrylic paint and red stickles, add black & white enamel for more texture.)

No. 2 - "U R My #1 Fan" tag

If the love of your life likes to read this would make a perfect surprise to sneak in his book. Make sure to add some hand written notes to the back of the tag!

No. 3 - Nails Art

If I can do it you can! Make sure to take your time ... you are not winning anything here for being speedy!

Like I said I haven't really done much as far as crafting goes much less anything else.

Oh and look what's still on my desk!!!!
I have so much to catch up with. I haven't even printed out any Christmas pictures for the mini yet. I might have to save it for next year. I'm really not in a Christmas mood right now even though I love Christmas!

Best 99 cents I've ever spent!

I just purchased the first single from Sam Tsui! All I can say is quit college! haha. I've never said that to anyone but Sam and Kurt are so talented. I love everything about this song (Don't Want An Ending); the lyrics, the voice, the acting, the location, the video, the editing, the list goes on.

If you've never heard of Sam or Kurt please check this out! They were on Oprah awhile back. They are amaaaaazing!!!

Fourth Time's a Charm

I admire/ envy/ jealous/ ... of those people who has green thumb. My mom is one of them. Anything grows in her yard. What's up with that?! Even seeds she got from overseas. Seriously?!

Let me introduce you to a wanna be green thumb girl. Drumroll please?!

Ladies and Gent please meet Bea!

I want so badly to grow roses. Not just make them grow but sustain their precious lives. I want them to make babies... multiply and replenish my beautiful porch. Is this too much to ask?! Seriously! Sheesh!

I'm really keeping all my fingers and toes crossed this time. Yes I'm not ashamed to admit that this is my 4th time trying. The song "Keep trying you'll get it right" by Yo Gabba Gabba keeps popping in my head while I got my hands dirty. Thank you son! I guess mommy learned something from your silly show.

Please give me tips of how to make my roses stay alive!!! I don't want to be labeled as a "killer."

Have a wonderful day!
